NOTICE OF THE PASSING OF ZONING BY-LAWS
IN THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF SOUTH RIVER
SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSALS
- Change the zoning from Downtown Commercial (C1) to Downtown Commercial (C1) with exception numbers C1-6, C1-7 and C1-8 to a variety of housing types located at 106 Ottawa Avenue.
- Change the zoning from Downtown Commercial (C1) to a Third Density Residential (R3) to permit the conversion of the previous pharmacy to residential apartments located at 22 Marie Street;
- Change the zoning from Rural (RU) to a Highway Commercial (C2) zone to permit office space and self-storage units located at 291 Highway No. 124.
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Village of South River passed By-law Numbers 45-2021 (106 Ottawa Avenue); 46-2021 (22 Marie Street) and 47-2021 (291 Highway No. 124) on the 22nd day of November 2021 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1990, as amended.
AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or agency may appeal to the in respect of the by-law which must be filed with the Clerk of the Corporation of the Village of South River not later than the 22nd day of December, 2021 a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law(s) and reasons in support of the objection and must be accompanied by the fee required by the Local Planning Tribunal (LPT). An appeal form is available from the LPT at www.lpt.gov.on.ca.
AN EXPLANATION of the purpose and effect of the by-law describing the land to which the by-law applies, and a key map showing the location of the lands to which the by-law applies are attached. The complete by-law is available for inspection at the Village of South River Office during regular office hours.
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a zoning by-law to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
